The main difference of Adobe After Effect and Animate, is that After Effects involves with editing parts of a motion clips and also involves in visuals effects.After effects are also good for composition and parts of it involves with many layers of it.Layers used can be used such as timeline, project panel, tools panel.
The difference in adobe animate, that is apparel art that makes still images appear to move, these images can also be appeared as 2D and creates many stunning motion graphics.Also much of vector animation and key frames.
